This page explains how to permanently delete your Xila account and what happens to your data when you do, operated by Xila Ltd. It is published as the public account and data deletion reference for the Xila app and website — you do not need to sign in to read it. Only the signed-in owner of an account can complete deletion; we do not delete another person's account from this page, and we never accept deletion requests without verifying the account owner first.
1. Before You Begin
1.1 Who Can Delete This Account
Deletion can only be initiated by the signed-in owner of the account, and must be confirmed with a one-time password (OTP) sent to the registered email address. This protects you from someone else deleting your account without your knowledge, even if they have access to a shared device.
1.2 What Deletion Means
Deleting your account is a two-stage process. Requesting deletion immediately signs you out everywhere and places the account into a 13-day grace period, during which it is deactivated but not yet erased. Once the grace period ends, the account and its associated personal data are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered — so please read Section 3 (Cancel a Pending Deletion) before you proceed if there is any chance you might change your mind.
2. How to Delete Your Account
2.1 Delete From the Xila App or Website
To delete your account:
- Sign in to your Xila account, on the app or the website.
- Go to Settings → Account & Security.
- Select Delete Account.
- Verify your email with the one-time password (OTP) we send you.
- Your account is scheduled for deletion. After the 13-day grace period, it and its associated personal data are permanently deleted.
Account deletion must be completed while signed in on the Xila app or website. If you cannot sign in or complete OTP verification, email us from the address registered on your account so we can verify you are the owner.
2.2 Cancel a Pending Deletion
Changed your mind? Simply sign back in with your usual credentials any time before the 13-day grace period ends. We'll ask you to verify your identity with a one-time code sent to your registered email, and your account is reactivated automatically — your profile, settings, and content are restored exactly as they were, with no re-registration required. Once the grace period lapses, this option is no longer available and the deletion proceeds.
3. What Data Is Deleted
Once the grace period ends, the following are permanently erased or irreversibly anonymized:
- Profile
- Authentication data
- Personal information
- AI conversations (if applicable)
- Uploaded content (if applicable)
- Connected services
4. What Data We Retain
A small set of records is kept even after deletion, strictly where the law requires it — never for marketing or profiling purposes:
- Billing/invoice records where required by law
- Fraud/security logs where legally required
- Other records required for tax or regulatory compliance
- Retained only as long as legally required
For full details on what we collect, why, and how long we keep it, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Contact Information
Deleting your account is permanent, so we want to make sure you have support at every step. If you run into trouble signing in, verifying your identity, or completing the deletion process, reach out from the email address registered on your account so we can confirm you're the owner before making any changes.
